Divinity: Original Sin ist die Fortsetzung der Rollenspiel-Serie vom Entwickler Larian Studios spielt aber vor dem ersten Teil Divine Divinity. Anders als in Divinity 2 mit seiner 3rd-Person-Ansicht geht Original Sin zurück zur Iso-Perspektive der ersten beiden Serienteile. Das komplette Spiel ist als Koop-Abenteuer angelegt, mit einer weibliche und einer männlichen Figur. Während die Frau nach dem Tod wiederbelegt wurde und nun ohne Erinnungen ist, wurde der männliche Begleiter zum Leben in ewiger Folter verdammt. Die Kämpfe in Divinity 3 laufen rundenbasiert ab, wobei ein Spieler den Kampf verlassen kann und die Welt in Echtzeit weitererkundet. Entscheidungen müssen ürigens gemeinsam getroffen werden, ansonsten entscheidet der Charisma-Wert.
